Holiday Hours

December 15, 2008

Sigh..we are almost to the end of another camp. I hope you all are ready for more after the New Year. As most of you know the schedule is up and ready for your to attack with registration so you may continue your quest for a better you! http://www.fitnessgatherings.com/bootcamp.htm

I will be taking a couple days off of training and camps over the holidays so I can rest, spend some much needed time with my family and get ready for a busy time in my line of work. From December 23rd – January 4th I will be on a holiday schedule. For me that means:

  • Still teaching a couple of classes at the Y
  • Writing my blog and articles
  • Doing my educational seminars and projects
  • Keeping up with my personal workout routine

I regret that some of you won’t workout while I’m on vacation, but I want you to all do your best to make an effort for yourself. Imagine I am there giving you the feedback you need to get the work done.

I hope you all have a beautiful Christmas and awesome New Year!

Make it a healthy rest of your year,

Amy

Progress is made!

December 5, 2008

Another fantastic week of camps- we are off to a great start. I understand the holidays can put people into a bit of a financial crisis, and I am so thankful that you all are still taking an interest in your health and wellness and affording  the luxury of a small group training session with me. It makes me smile

I’m also elated that I can see progress being made in the way the some of you think and move within the circuits and exercises. Everyone seems a little more comfortable with the group, more tuned in and certainly showing signs of a stronger core and engaged body. Keep it up!

Enjoy the weekend and let me know if you have any questions.

Staying engaged- Amy

December Camps are Coming..

November 21, 2008

Awesome work this week! I’m happy to see so many progressions with some of our chosen exercises, and your continued efforts to work hard and make a difference in your lives when it come to your body’s health. I’m sure you’ll all agree that having a strong center and flexible joints makes your body work so much more efficiently and makes those day to day tasks seem so much easier.

I look forward to working with you next week and encourage you all to sign up for the December session to continue your progress.  I’m also hoping for some feedback, too. Let me know your thoughts, concerns and words of encouragement.  By the way, I’ll listen to criticism, too. I promise not to get upset-LOL.

I’m so impressed!

November 13, 2008

This session looks like its going to be a wonderful and exciting experience. I’m completely overwhelmed with how perfectly everyobody works together, works hard, asks questions and of course listens to my yammering of how important it is to keep your abdominals “engaged” during movement execution.

Every one of the T/Th camps have participants running through them and it seems as though each individual is eager to not only feel the workout, but also open to all the benefits it will bring to their body. YAY! As a trainer/teacher I couldn’t ask for better students. Thank you!

I look forward to the challenges of next week and hope you all remember to keep your core engaged, lengthen your spine, focus with intention and stay happy, healthy, positive and live out loud.

Til’ Tuesday,

Amy

Session 2 Begins…

November 12, 2008

T/Th mornings are off to a great start with all three camps running. I’m happy to report that these groups are full of amazing, wit, strength, agility, flexiblity and fun-natured enthusiasm. I know by the end of the three weeks everyone will be feeling great about their bodies, individual efforts and looking forward to December’s camps.

Keep your core engaged, stand tall, remember to breath in, relax and just take a moment to soak it all in.

See you campers on Thursday!

I can’t believe the first session is already over. Amazing! Everyone did such a wonderful job and I definitely saw changes in not only your abilities, but also your attitudes as each week progressed. I am looking forward to many more camps, and hope that you all will continue to strive forward with your health and wellness goals.

I am so happy I did this, and really can’t wait for spring to be here so I can get you all outside again. In the meantime, stay indoors with me and sign up for some of my other camps, I’ll gaurantee you results that will help with lifelong goals of staying fit and healthy.

Heres to all of you and all the hard work you performed, and all that is to come!

Great fun with the poker run/workout!

October 17, 2008

Hello Campers-

Thanks for making the time to meet with me on the trail for yet another fun and eventful week. The poker run/workout was meant to add a little bit of excitement, anticipation and fun to your outdoor workouts. You did fantastic with all the drills, and worked as hard as ever.

I’m sad to say, but next week is it until next spring for the outdoor camps. Of course you have other indoor options in the studio: http://www.fitnessgatherings.com/bootcamp.htm Don’t forget to sign up for November sessions because they will fill up fast.

For those of you who’ve been keeping up with the challenges and meeting me twice per week, you’ve got to be feeling stronger, more energetic and have some definite improvements in your muscle endurance and core strength. Let’s keep things rolling into next week, too.

My challenge for all of you: Make it to both sessions next week no matter what your excuses are! You’re health and well being can’t be put on the back burner any longer. Take charge and be active in ways you never thought possible.

You’re all amazing women and incredible athletes! Come out and play next week with me one last time.

Enjoy the weekend,
Amy

Wrap up to week 4

October 12, 2008

You made it! 4 weeks and counting. Excellent work and dedication to your health and personal fitness. I’m so happy to be a part of your path to a better you and hope you’ve all been enjoying the experience as much as I have been coaching everyone through weekly workouts.

With just two weeks left to this outdoor boot camp adventure you should all be finding your feeling stronger, have better aerobic fitness, have better balance and coordination and, if you’ve been consistent and following all of the challenges outside of camp, you are seeing physical changes in your body, too.

Week 4 goal’s were to push your continuous bouts of effort a bit more, and make a complete workout available to all of you in 60 minutes. As I mentioned in the previous blog, doing this 3 days per week would meet minimum fitness standards and improve your health and body composition (lean weight vs. fat weight ratio).

The last two weeks will be full of play, unexpected activities and workouts that are fun and interactive. I want exercise to feel exciting, adventurous and accessible to all of you at any level.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday :-)

Enjoy every moment, take it all in, live proudly, laugh out loud, and love passionately.

Amy
